Mom and dad’s little helpers! Many stars love to cook, and when their children are old enough, some of them love lending a hand in the kitchen.
Take John Legend and Chrissy Teigen’s eldest child, Luna, for example. By the time she entered preschool, the toddler was already starting to follow in her mom’s culinary footsteps.l
“I love this girl,” the Cravings author, who is also the mother of son Miles, captioned a June 2019 Instagram photo of Luna watching her dad use a pasta maker in Italy to crank fresh noodles.
In March of the previous year, the little one helped her mom make “cornflake marshmallow and Fruity Pebble crunch cookies.”
When Teigen was Luna’s age, she was “embarrassed” by her mom Vilailuck Pepper‘s Thai cooking. “Mom’s food looked different and smelled different,” the Utah native explained in the foreword for The Pepper Thai Cookbook. “People are more accepting of Thai food now. All of our friends, they eat everything that I offer them now. … Our house smells of chilies and everything all day long.”
The Bring the Funny judge went on to write in the April 2021 book that she, Legend and their two kids “love to cook and eat together.”
Luna can “handle things spicier than most kids, especially if it’s a soup broth or something,” the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model wrote in a November 2019 blog post.
The Chrissy’s Court star added, “When I was pregnant, I ate the hottest foods imaginable. … Miles is a little more on the sensitive side when it comes to traveling to flavortown. I don’t think I’ll ever pressure them into eating spicy foods, although it would make me a little more than proud if they had a passion for it one day as big as mine.”
As for Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka’s household, their two kids are just as resourceful when it comes time to help out in the kitchen. In December 2018, the couple’s twins, Harper and Gideon, embraced the idea of a make-your-own sushi night and crafted some tasty looking rolls using salmon, tuna, avocado and more.
The How I Met Your Mother alum’s children are “very smart, savvy [and] cool,” the actor exclusively told Us Weekly in September 2021.

The Dancing With the Stars alum shared Maddox and daughters Weslie and Zaia with late husband Stephen “tWitch” Boss, who died by suicide in 2022.
Kourtney Kardashian’s youngest son made himself pancakes in February 2020 with a little help from the family’s new puppy — which the proud mom caught on camera. “Good Morning from Chef Reign and Cubs,” the Poosh founder captioned a series of photos of the adorable duo in the kitchen. In the snaps, Reign uses a chair to reach the stove and stir his breakfast while Cubs looks on eagerly.
At just 23 months, Luna was more than happy to help mom Chrissy Teigen bake some sweet treats. “Making cornflake marshmallow and fruity pebble crunch cookies,” Teigen wrote on Instagram in March 2018. She later noted that the recipe came from “the genius that is @christinatosi and the @milkbarstore cookbook!” Luna’s love of the kitchen has remained steadfast. In June 2019, she looked on in amazement as dad John Legend made his own pasta during a family trip to Italy.
Though Luna’s little brother is a tad too young to start wielding kitchen utensils, the adorable tot is apparently an excellent taste tester. “Miles helping test mom’s noodle soup recipes!” Teigen captioned an Instagram snapshot of her son sitting in his highchair eating some noodles.
Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka’s twins likely know their way around a kitchen so well thanks to Burtka, who is a professional chef. In December 2018, the elementary schoolers demonstrated their own expertise during a make-your-own-sushi night at home with their dads. “The kids were thrilled. David is rad,” Harris captioned the snap.
The Thor actor’s eldest child, daughter India Rose, helped her famous dad whip up some food after a big Hollywood night. “Papa making some late snack after premiere @thehunstman,” Hemsworth’s wife (and India’s mom) wrote in the April 2016 Instagram caption.

The Top Chef star’s younger daughter had a smile on her face as she whisked together some ingredients while her dad added a bit of olive oil to the mix. “Homemade aïoli for cucumber sandwiches,” he wrote of the sweet photo from August 2018.
The eldest son of chef Curtis Stone and actress Lindsay Price proved he takes after his dad by rocking an apron and working with some dough in the kitchen. “Best Sous chef a man could ever wish for!” Stone wrote of his little pal in May 2018. He also added: “#bestmates #souschef.”
