Lala Kent has made her feelings about expanding her family clear over the years.
The Vanderpump Rules star first became a mother when she welcomed daughter Ocean with then-fiancé Randall Emmett in March 2021. Kent, who got engaged to the director in 2019, offered a candid glimpse at the ups and downs during her pregnancy.
Ahead of her daughter’s arrival, the Utah native detailed the complications, which began at six weeks with bleeding.
“For the next three weeks, I would continue to randomly bleed and each time, I would call my OB and be beside myself,” Kent wrote via Instagram in February 2021. “Although bleeding during pregnancy isn’t normal, it is common. My bleeding was the result of a clot. I was put on bed rest until it was gone. The next appointment, there was growth — not much, but some. After a few weeks, my doctors concluded that this was a placenta problem, not a kid problem. Although we never want any problem, this was a relief.”
After giving birth to Ocean, Kent and Emmett sparked split speculation when she removed all traces of the producer from her social media feed. Us Weekly confirmed in November 2021 that the pair had called it quits.
Kent, who was briefly linked to Don Lopez after ending her engagement, later confirmed that she was set on using a sperm donor to expand her family. “I’m doing a sperm donor, period. I will not even attempt to try and do it a different way. I don’t want another person involved,” she told costar Scheana Shay on an episode of Dear Media’s “Scheananigans” podcast in November 2022. “There’s such a high chance of it not working out, especially where we live. I’m not taking the chance. Like, I am so scarred from all of this s—t that has happened in my life.

Everything Lala Kent Has Said About Having Another Baby After Welcoming Daughter Ocean: ‘I Don’t Want Another Person Involved’
Lala Kent has made her feelings about expanding her family clear over the years.

“I definitely want to have another baby,” Kent told Us two months after welcoming her daughter. “It doesn’t have to be right away because I am just so in love, and I want to enjoy Ocean, for as long as possible. It’s like, ‘Clock is ticking, you better have another baby.’”
Following her split from Emmett, the Give Them Lala author opened up about how her plans to expand her family changed. “I do [want more kids]. I think I’ll start depending on what my life looks like this year. I don’t want another baby daddy, so that we know,” she revealed on the “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast, adding that she plans to “start figuring out options to have another” child.
The Bravo personality joked that she was in the market for sperm amid her attempt to have more kids.
“My gusband brought over this man the other day and I’m not ashamed to say — I asked him if I could buy his sperm in the future,” Kent shared with Us, referring to her gay best friend’s pal. “He was gorgeous. I was like, ‘What I need from you — just the sperm. I don’t want a baby daddy, you’ll sign some papers. I need you to vamoose, I need you to go away right after.’ And he was like, ‘I’ll just give it to you for free.’ I was like, ‘Even better!’ … We’ll get the lawyers on the phone before anything happens.”
She added: “The short answer to your question is yes, I would love more kids. Don’t want more baby daddies, but I do want more kids.”
Kent’s plans to procreate only include using a sperm donor. “I’m thinking around the summertime I’ll start trying to get pregnant,” she told Shay on her podcast about her preference for IUI instead of IVF. “So, because I’m pretty good to go, I could just do the insemination process.”
“It’s going very well. I can’t wait until I can share things with you guys. I did not expect my life to be this way but I’m certainly thrilled that we are given options to bring kids into the world,” Kent said on Amazon Live about making progress with expanding her family.
